How to manage pupil data shared with Infinity via MIS integration

Infinity integrates MIS data seamlessly through Wonde, giving your school’s Wonde administrator full control over permissions and which pupils’ data is shared.

Please share this guide with your school’s Wonde administrator, specifying the employees, classes, groups, or pupils needing access along with details of how many students Infinity has been purchased for.

First, log in to your Wonde Portal. If the connection to White Rose Education has been approved, you will see a White Rose Education tile on your Wonde dashboard.

Click the White Rose Education tile to access the application management page. Here you will see options including:

•  Permissions – allows you to view and amend the permissions White Rose Education is granted at any time 
•  Access Control – where you can manage which pupils’ data is shared with White Rose Education 

Once you select ‘Access control’, you then have the options to:

• Allow access to all users
• Include users by default
• Exclude users by default
• Dynamic rules

Your choice will depend on your school's size, the number of Infinity+ licenses ordered, and whether it will be used schoolwide or for specific classes or pupils.

Using Infinity school wide

If using Infinity school wide, you can choose the ‘Allow access to all users’ option and there is no further action needed.

Using Infinity with certain classes or year groups

To use Infinity with certain year groups or classes, we recommend the ‘Dynamic rules’ option where the groups, classes or year groups are set out within the school's MIS system.

Dynamic rules let you choose to share data for the desired Years, Registration groups, Classes, and Subjects. Data will be excluded for all pupils who are not within the selected filters by default.

You can also manually include or exclude specific people which will override their status based on the selected filters.

This means that if a new child joins one of the year groups or classes who use Infinity an account will be created for them automatically when they are added to your school MIS.

With ‘Include users by default’ selected, use filters to identify pupils whose data should not be shared.

Using Infinity with specific pupils

If using Infinity with specific pupils (e.g., intervention groups), choose ‘Exclude users by default’. This lets you search by the child's name and share their data, regardless of class or year.

Unselected pupils won’t have their data shared, and you can update the selection anytime.

Checking the total

You can view the total number of pupils’ and employees’ data being shared with White Rose Education through the access control page. The total 'with access' includes all employees and pupils whose data is being shared with White Rose Infinity. 

For an employee to access Infinity they must:

• Be a member of your school's White Rose Education membership group
• Be assigned access to Infinity by a manager within the membership group

The number of pupils whose data you share will be determined by the number of pupils your school has purchased Infinity for.
