A guide to viewing quiz results and detailed question-by-question analysis for your pupils
Once your pupils have attempted their assigned quiz, you can view their results. This can be viewed live, allowing real-time gap analysis and addressing of misconceptions.
There are two ways to access the results page for a particular quiz; from the dashboard or through the library.
From your dashboard
Firstly, click the quiz that you want to view the results for on your Infinity dashboard.
The selected quiz will open to the quiz preview. Select the 'Results' tab from the top menu bar.
From the library
Find the quiz you wish to view the results for in your quiz library by using the filters or searching the quiz name or quiz ID in the search bar.
When you have found your desired quiz, click the results icon.
On the results page
The results page automatically opens on the 'Chart view' tab. Select the class or group name you wish to view the results for from the ‘Class’ dropdown.
This chart view gives a clear snapshot of performance: highlighting the questions children found easiest and most challenging, top-performing students, score distribution, overall averages, and gender-based trends. It’s a quick, powerful way to spot strengths and identify where support is needed most.
For custom quizzes, these charts reflect the best results from pupils in the class who were assigned the quiz and completed all questions. For scheme of learning quizzes, the best results from your class are also shown alongside the average results from all other classes and schools who have taken the same quiz.
To explore a detailed, colour-coded breakdown of scores for each question, and to view all attempts, simply select the 'Table view' tab.
You can then filter to show:
- Best results - the highest overall score achieved by all pupils who have completed the quiz
- All results - every score and all attempts by all pupils who have attempted the quiz at least once. This includes partial results for those who began the quiz but did not complete all questions on that attempt
- No results - pupils who the quiz has been assigned to but who have not yet attempted any questions
The results table shows the number of stars each pupil has been awarded for each question on that attempt at completing the quiz.
Quiz results can be exported in either CSV or XLSX format for ease of data analysis. Simply select the class and results filter then click either the 'Export as CSV' or 'Export as XLSX' options below.
Understanding the results page
Children can try each question a maximum of three times in each quiz attempt. Stars are awarded for correct answers; three stars for right first-time attempts, to zero stars for those who didn't manage to enter a correct answer for that question during that quiz attempt.
The stars awarded for each question are also colour coded to allow teachers to spot trends at a glance.
To check where a question attempt went wrong, you can click the number of stars awarded to view the answers the pupil has given in their attempts at this particular question.
This allows you to quickly assess which areas require further focus, and rule out mistakes caused by typing errors.
To gain an instant insight into which questions you may wish to revisit, the average number of stars awarded for each question is shown at the top of the results table. The chart view also provides the average score per question.
To view real-time results as children are attempting the quiz, use the ‘Refresh results’ button to populate all recent results for the quiz
Exported data
The results table can be exported in either CSV or XLSX format to make data analysis a breeze!
This helpful option allows schools and teachers more flexibility and customisation options for data-analysis and record keeping.
