Should you create a separate membership for your school?

If you’re trying to order Premium Resources but see a message saying a membership already exists, here’s what you can do.

What does it mean that a membership already exists for my school?

When your school purchases a group subscription — such as for Primary Maths — it creates a school group that allows multiple staff members to access the Premium Resources using their own White Rose Education login.

This group is managed under one account and includes the active subscription(s). Staff can be invited to join the group to gain access.

If you're seeing a message like the examples below, it means a school group has already been set up for your school.

If you wish to renew an existing membership, please ensure you are logged in as a member of the school group where the subscription is held before placing your order. This prevents overlapping subscription terms and loss of access for the existing school group members.

How do I know who the Manager(s) of the existing membership group are?

If you would like to join the existing school group, any member of the group with ‘Manager’ status can invite you to join them. There can be multiple managers within a group and these are usually the people who place orders on behalf of the school, SLT members, and/or subject leaders of Maths or Science.

If you’ve asked around in school and have been unable to pin down a group manager please get in touch with our friendly Customer Care team. We can take a few details, find the school group, and either point you in the right direction or help you get connected with your school group.

What happens if I create a separate membership for my school?

If you choose to create a separate membership for your school, this will create a brand-new school group.

Anyone who requires access to the subscription resources you purchase will need to be invited to join the new group, even if they are already a member of the existing school group.

This option is ideal if you wish to keep your subscriptions separate, for example an all through school where your Primary and Secondary subscriptions are managed independently.
